If you’re after driving lessons in Bondi and want an instructor who won’t add to the stress of learning, Julia is based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and has taught in and around Bondi for more than 23 years. She’s fully RMS accredited, calm, softly spoken, and specialises in exactly the learners who find the idea of a driving lesson terrifying: nervous beginners, anxious drivers, and people who’ve had a bad run with another instructor before.

Bondi has its own particular driving challenges. Bondi Road and the roundabouts around Bondi Junction demand real confidence, and weekends and summer afternoons bring a surge of beach traffic, tourists unfamiliar with the area, and pedestrians crossing wherever they please. Roundabouts happen to be one of Julia’s specialities, taught the same clear, logical way she teaches everything else — how to time your entry, read other drivers, and stay calm when several cars are trying to merge into the same gap.

Julia’s ten-lesson course runs from basic car control and observation through roundabouts, lane changes, defensive driving and freeway introduction, right up to full driving test preparation, with a clear plan from lesson one. If you’d prefer to focus on something specific, like reverse parking or a pre-test refresher, lessons can be tailored instead. Every student gets free written notes, diagrams and mini video demonstrations to keep practising with at home, plus a written progress report and a quick review at the start and end of each lesson so you can see what’s actually improving. If you’re pickup-shy, Julia can also meet you at Bondi Junction station rather than at home.

Beyond typical learners, Julia teaches people with autism, Asperger’s, ADHD and learning difficulties, mature-age and senior learners (including those needing a driving reassessment), people with a history of road trauma or PTSD, and overseas licence conversions. She’s a registered NDIS provider, and can arrange workplace driver training or OT driving assessments on request, in addition to standard lessons.
